Turn the seat clockwise and it gets higher, spin it counter-clockwise and it goes down; the Eisen stool gets you where you want to go. It's like an old-fashioned piano stool, but made of steel and given a distressed brown/black finish to enhance its Victorian iron-age appearance. The range of seat-height adjustment extends from 24" to 31", enough to take you from a counter to a bar and anywhere in between. It's a great idea for those of us who don't fit into the pre-determined dimensions of conventional stools. And it also makes a nifty 15"-dia. end table or nightstand, all the more useful with the height adjustment feature.
